According to the Daily Mail’s Transfer Confidential email, Robert Sanchez has agreed to join Chelsea, with the club targeting him as competition for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Chelsea’s Goalkeeping Coach, Ben Roberts, is reportedly keen on a reunion with Sanchez, as they previously worked together at Brighton.
Sanchez is said to be keen on leaving Brighton after losing his place under Roberto De Zerbi and sees Stamford Bridge as an ideal destination for a fresh start. The 25-year-old goalkeeper has made 87 Premier League appearances for Brighton.
The transfer fee for Sanchez is estimated to be around £30 million. However, there is a potential problem for Chelsea as Brighton may be hesitant to agree on a fee due to ongoing talks between the two clubs for Moises Caicedo.
Brighton has rejected an £80 million bid from Chelsea for Caicedo, which may have affected their relationship and negotiations for other players, including Sanchez.
The situation is likely to develop further as Chelsea and Brighton continue discussions about both Sanchez and Caicedo.
