‘Not trusted’: £25m player will now be leaving Chelsea after Pochettino and Boehly’s latest decision
According to Liam Twomey of The Athletic, Trevoh Chalobah’s future at Chelsea is now in doubt after the club agreed to sign Axel Disasi from Monaco for £39 million. The arrival of Disasi is seen as “bad news” for Chalobah, as it could force him out of the club.
Chalobah, who had the prospect of receiving significant playing time following Wesley Fofana’s injury, has been considered a saleable asset by Chelsea for some time. Despite his initial intention to fight for his place amid interest from Inter Milan, the signing of another central defender suggests that he may not be trusted at Chelsea.
Alongside Disasi, Chalobah also faces competition from Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Thiago Silva, and Fofana once he regains full fitness.
As for potential destinations, West Ham is reportedly interested in signing Chalobah as they look to spend the £105 million fee received for Declan Rice. Inter Milan is also keen on him, with funds available from the sale of Andre Onana.
Chelsea values Chalobah at £25 million, as per the Evening Standard.
Chalobah’s future at Chelsea seems uncertain with the arrival of Disasi, and it remains to be seen whether he will stay close to Chelsea with a move to West Ham or possibly make a switch to Inter Milan.
