Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech’s potential move seems to have hit a roadblock once again, as reports suggest he has failed his second medical within weeks. This development suggests that Ziyech is likely to remain at Chelsea this summer. The player is one of the few who are considered surplus to requirements under Mauricio Pochettino’s management.
Unfortunately for Ziyech, his attempts to secure a transfer have faced successive setbacks. Dutch media outlets have reported that he has once again not passed his medical examination, leading to the collapse of the proposed move.
This recent occurrence adds to a series of frustrations for Ziyech in the past few months, following his involvement in Morocco’s impressive journey to the semi-finals during the World Cup held in Qatar.
Despite his noteworthy performances on the international stage, Ziyech was deemed not to be a part of Chelsea’s future plans under the leadership of Graham Potter. In the January transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain attempted to secure Ziyech’s services on a short-term loan deal. However, the move faced an unexpected collapse on the deadline day due to incomplete paperwork. Chelsea attributed the failure to a “technology defect,” leaving Ziyech in a challenging position at Stamford Bridge.
Luis Campos, the football advisor for PSG, expressed his dissatisfaction with Chelsea’s role in the breakdown of the deal. Campos stated, “We had the player with us, we had done everything. But as with all transfers, you need all three parties to work well. In this case, it worked very well for Paris Saint-Germain, it also worked well with Ziyech. Unfortunately, it didn’t work well for the last party.”
The repeated failures in securing a transfer and the subsequent implications paint a picture of uncertainty for Hakim Ziyech’s future in the football world.
