On Wednesday, the club declared that general admission tickets will not be hiked again, and that the much-maligned £2 booking charge would be dropped.
The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust has expressed thanks to the new owners for making this new choice in response to their demands.
“The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust (CST) is thrilled that Chelsea FC has frozen General Admission Season Ticket pricing for next season,” the club said in a statement. The fact that the new owners have listened to the CST and Chelsea supporters is positive. “Since its inception, the CST has consistently stated that the £2 booking charge per transaction is entirely unreasonable,” said the CST. The decision to eliminate the extra cost is important, and everyone will appreciate it.”
Despite Chelsea lowering the two most expensive tiers by 25%, the Chelsea Supporters Trust raised worry over the Westview season ticket costs. The fee for the third tier stays the same at £1,500.
“While we applaud the reduction in the outrageous suggested price for tickets in Westview, the CST remains dissatisfied with such a considerable price rise,” the CST noted. Due to the removal of current Season Ticket holders from the West Stand Upper, the increase will have an impact on fans across Stamford Bridge, with fewer tickets available to members.”
