After only one season at Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a summer transfer to Inter Milan.
Romelu Lukaku joined Chelsea for a club-record £97.5 million, but the Belgian didn’t appear to fit in with Thomas Tuchel’s style of play, despite scoring 15 goals in all competitions for the Blues last season.
Inter Milan and Chelsea are negotiating a deal for Lukaku, but it will be tough to complete given the distance between the two sides in the negotiations.
Former Inter Milan manager Marco Branca claims that Romelu Lukaku will eventually return to the club.
According to Branca, the player’s will always prevail in the end.
“The will of the players has always counted,” Branca said Sky Italia. “I don’t think Lukaku wants to review but just return to feeling like a protagonist in the two years at Inter.”
“In London, he didn’t feel well, and he didn’t feel good with (Thomas) Tuchel, so he’s putting all his personal happiness on the line at the risk of losing the economic satisfaction he got last year.’
“In Serie A, he has demonstrated that his physical and technical attributes are suitable. I don’t believe he would have any problems reintegrating into Inter.”
Shaun Wright-Phillips, a former Chelsea winger, has recommended the Blues make a summer bid for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski, according to Wright-Phillips, will always guarantee goals.
“No matter what side Robert Lewandowski plays for, he always finds a way to score a goal,” Wright-Phillips told Genting Casino. “He’d be the perfect substitute for Romelu Lukaku, but Chelsea would still need to play to his strengths to make it work.”
