According to rumours, the representative for Chelsea striker Timo Werner has given Real Madrid the chance to sign Werner. Karim Benzema is approaching the end of his career, thus the La Liga and Champions League winners need a replacement. Additionally, Edinson Cavani and Edin Dzeko are being taken into account.
Werner was mentioned in connection with Real Madrid during the 2020 summer transfer window.
The Germany international, however, made the decision to leave RB Leipzig for Chelsea on that particular occasion after being fascinated by Frank Lampard’s vision at Stamford Bridge.
Werner was a Champions League champion in his debut season with the club, but he hasn’t lived up to the hype since then.
The 26-year-old has made 41 appearances in the top tier but just 10 Premier League goals, frequently blowing hot and cold under both Lampard and Thomas Tuchel.
Additionally, according to Mundo Deportivo, Werner’s agent has given Real the chance to sign him.
Newcastle and Juventus have also surfaced as prospective suitors for the former Leipzig star, in addition to Madrid.
But given how Real coveted the attacker only two years ago, a transfer to the Bernabeu may be in the works.
But he isn’t the only player being considered in the Spanish capital, as was already revealed.
Cavani, who is a free agent right now, has also been given the chance to sign with Real.
The Uruguayan international departed Manchester United at the conclusion of the last campaign after finding it difficult to get into routine games at Old Trafford.
According to several rumours, Cavani is about to sign with Villarreal as he seeks to continue his career in Europe.
However, Real is a very different animal, and if he decides to move to Bernabeu, the 35-year-old might be a valuable asset.
Dzeko is a third choice for Carlo Ancelotti’s group.
Following Inter Milan’s decision to allow Romelu Lukaku to return to Chelsea, the Bosnian international joined the club just one year ago.
However, the former Manchester City striker may find it difficult to find regular play now that Lukaku is back at the San Siro.
Dzeko proved he still has it last season by scoring 13 goals in 36 Serie A games while also contributing five assists.
And it’s still unclear who Madrid will sign.
Over the years, they’ve had difficulty with Benzema deputies, with numerous players having difficulty in that capacity.
Mariano Diaz had a triumphant comeback in 2018, but in the five years following, he has only scored six La Liga goals.
When Luka Jovic arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019, big things were anticipated of him, but the attacker hasn’t been able to maintain consistency.
Alvaro Morata, who scored 20 goals in 43 games for Real Madrid in the 2016–17 season, was probably the lone exception, although he never desired to remain in Benzema’s shadow.
While everything was going on, Eden Hazard recently supported his Real teammate, Karim Benzema, for the Ballon d’Or this year.
Hazard stated to ESPN that Benzema “deserves to win the Ballon d’Or.”
“There’s no denying it.
“But I believe he merits it for his whole career, not just for that season. It seems as though he has been in charge for 15 years.
“Perhaps he is scoring more goals, which is why many only want him to win this Ballon d’Or. However, I believe he was deserving of the award five years ago.
“He’s now our captain, and he’s also incredibly nice. On the field, he doesn’t speak much and just goes about his business.
He is our captain. We just encouraged him to compete for the Ballon d’Or.
