It feels like an eternity ago that Manchester City’s transfer rumours were centered on the arrival of Jack Grealish.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Gareth Southgate has been urged by fans from all teams to give Grealish greater playing time at the European Championships. Despite a perceived lack of playing time for England, the 26-year-old emerged as a hot property during the tournament.
After a year, the focus has shifted to Erling Haaland, as it often does in football, and the narrative around Grealish has completely altered. After a disappointing season at the Etihad, Southgate is now being questioned about selecting the midfielder in his Nations League team for the next matchups.
Grealish has showed flashes of his ability at City, but with only six goals and four assists in 39 games, he isn’t exactly lighting up the world. As a result, a chairman who spent so much money on one player might be forgiven for questioning the player as well as the recruitment department.
Khaldoon Al Mubarak, on the other hand, exhibited the kind of faith that has been absent in sport for many years (albeit not at Pep Guardiola’s City) by breaking his silence on the purchase of Grealish.
“Jack is one of the world’s most potential and exciting players,” Khaldoon said on the club’s official website.
” He came into this club, he is a hard worker, he is a fantastic talent, Pep and the coaching staff are ecstatic with his work ethic, and his statistics are excellent.” He’s on the correct road, and we all know that because of the standard, he’ll produce since we have high expectations.
“Let’s see how he develops.” I believe Jack will continue to progress next season and become a key member of our club.”
If the City leadership is committed to Grealish, Haaland will very certainly receive the same treatment. Because of the 21-year-injury old’s problems at Borussia Dortmund this season, patience and faith may be the watchwords for Blues fans.
Some of the finest attackers in the world, with illustrious goalscoring histories, have struggled to make an immediate impact in the Premier League. At Chelsea, Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku have both demonstrated this.
