Manchester City’s Khaldoon Al Mubarak has stated that the club will engage with Pep Guardiola about a new contract when the manager requests it.
Guardiola’s contract at the Etihad is coming to an end in the next 12 months, and after winning four Premier League championships in a row, no one in the club administration wants him to go. While the manager has stated that he would not betray the club when making a choice, he has also stated that he may wait until his contract expires before making his next move.
City, on the other hand, are unconcerned about the situation, given that they are dealing with a player who has already stayed longer at City than he did at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, thanks in part to the positive relationships he has with his bosses and the freedom he is given to carry out his duties.
“Pep has never stayed with any club as long as he has (here), be it Barcelona or Bayern Munich.” As a result, the question is completely valid,” Al Mubarak remarked.
“Last year and three years ago, that was completely acceptable. And then there’s this year. It’s a relationship that’s gotten a lot of things done over the years. It’s reaching its seventh year, and the coming year will be an interesting chapter in his cooperation, which we’re relishing. We’re accomplishing wonderful things together, and this dialogue will take place at the appropriate time, at the appropriate pace, and within the framework that Pep prefers.”
