‘Get him out of my club’ ‘He’s just chilling and collecting big money’ – Jamie O’Hara blast Chelsea player after Real Madrid display
Jamie O’Hara has heavily criticized Marc Cucurella’s performance for Chelsea against Real Madrid in the quarter-final match tonight. On Twitter, O’Hara expressed his disappointment in the Spaniard for his role in Ben Chilwell’s red card at the Bernabeu.
The defending champions of Europe dominated the game, beating the Blues 2-0 in the first leg. This is the third time the two teams have faced each other in as many years, and Madrid outplayed Chelsea for most of the match.
Chilwell’s professional foul on Rodrygo in the second half led to his red card, making it easier for Madrid to secure their second goal. Despite the setback, Chelsea fought hard to keep the scoreline from becoming worse and stay in the tie until the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
Chilwell’s absence means Cucurella is expected to step up as the left-back for the second leg. However, O’Hara was not impressed by his performance off the bench and called him a “disgrace” for his contribution.
Chelsea is hopeful that Kalidou Koulibaly’s injury is not serious enough to keep him out of the second leg. The Senegalese international put up a strong defensive display against Madrid before being forced off early in the second half. Cucurella replaced him, but his performance left much to be desired.
If Chalobah is required to play at Stamford Bridge, it could be an excellent opportunity for him to impress. Despite his limited minutes, he has previously shown promise when called upon.
