Adrien Rabiot, a midfielder for Juventus, is apparently a target for Chelsea and “welcomes” a transfer to the Premier League.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The 27-year-old left French powerhouse PSG in 2019 and joined Juventus on a free transfer.
For Juventus over the last three seasons, Rabiot has made 129 appearances. In recent years, he has assisted them in winning the Serie A and Coppa Italia.
In recent weeks, the center-midfielder has frequently been mentioned in connection with a transfer to the Premier League. In 2023, his contract expires.
Rabiot has reportedly “requested to go,” and out of all the interested teams, Chelsea likes him the best, according to Corriere Dello Sport (via Sport Witness).
A move to the Premier League is something the player “would appreciate.” Juventus allegedly “aims to earn €20-30m” for Rabiot. They would be allowed to pursue PSG’s Leandro Paredes if this sale goes through.
Glen Johnson, a former Chelsea defender, has advised the Blues to forgo investing £80 million on a replacement for Romelu Lukaku because Armando Broja is capable of doing the job.
Lukaku has been granted permission by Chelsea to return to Inter Milan on loan till the conclusion of the current campaign. The Serie A team will pay a fee and all of his £300,000 weekly salary.
To replace Lukaku, the Blues have been linked with a number of high-priced targets, but Johnson believes Chelsea’s youngster Broja can fill the void left by the Belgian.
While on loan with Southampton last season, Broja made 38 appearances and scored nine goals across all competitions:
Johnson said to GGRecon, “I think Chelsea will be hesitant to spend dangerous money again knowing what occurred with the Romelu Lukaku purchase.” If it were up to me, I would try Armando Broja before investing £80 million on a successor.
“I’d rather make a mistake with a guy I currently have than make a mistake by paying £80 million. Although I don’t yet know how talented he is, Broja is technically proficient in front of a goal.
Despite the fact that Southampton isn’t Chelsea, he did score some spectacular goals for the Saints. At Chelsea, he will have more chances to score goals, and he is technically skilled enough to do so in the upcoming season.
