Chelsea is open to letting two midfielders depart in the upcoming summer transfer window
According to British Football agent Haydn Dodge of CaughtOffside, Chelsea are ready to let go of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Conor Gallagher in the upcoming summer transfer window. Dodge states that the club does not consider them to be at the standard of Chelsea midfielders and is therefore open to transfer opportunities.
British Football agent Haydn Dodge reports that despite having already played 20 league matches this season, Conor Gallagher is not viewed as a Chelsea-calibre midfielder and could be let go in the summer. Meanwhile, Ruben Loftus Cheek, who recently played well against West Ham, has also been recovering from an injury and may also not be seen as a player that fits Chelsea’s future plans.
Both Loftus-Cheek and Gallagher have the potential to generate significant funds for Chelsea and could result in a profit on the financial books, as both players are academy products. A 40 million pound plus 5 million pound bid for Gallagher from Everton was reportedly rejected on deadline day. Although no official price tags have been set for either player, Chelsea is likely to have a target figure in mind and will hope to spark a bidding war during the summer transfer window.
