Arsenal has been advised to “launch a cheeky £60 million approach” for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! In 19 games versus Arsenal, Lukaku has four goals and five assists.
He scored in Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium at the start of the 2021/22 season.
Chelsea re-signed Lukaku from Inter Milan for £97.5 million last summer.
In December, the striker stated that he wants to return to Inter Milan before retiring.
Lukaku is said to be aiming to force through a return to Inter this summer. Because the Italian club cannot afford to pay a large sum to re-sign the attacker, this transaction would have to be on a loan basis.
Arsenal are looking for a new striker, and Paul Merson believes they should bid for Lukaku:
Arsenal should launch a brazen £60 million approach for Romelu Lukaku, according to Merson (via Evening Standard).
“Because if Chelsea is so anxious to get rid of him that they’re considering loaning him to Inter Milan, they’ll accept the money.”
“If I were Arsenal, I’d be chasing Lukaku hard.” I’d put in my best effort. At Arsenal, you don’t have to do a lot of jogging. You want the center forward to be up front and remain there because of the way they play. He’d be ideal for them. Arsenal has runners who can go in behind him and provide crosses to him.
“I’d like to believe Lukaku has Arsenal on his radar.” It’s being discussed whether he’ll return to Inter Milan. Arsenal, on the other hand, is a far larger club than Inter. Arsenal may not be in the Champions League next season, but Inter certainly aren’t going to win it.
“Let’s be honest, let’s be honest. These locations are chosen by players because they are convenient. He thinks he’d score a lot of goals in Italy since the game is so easy. He’d be up against teams that like to lie down.
“It’s not like that in the Premier League.” Scoring against Norwich is difficult enough. Lukaku, on the other hand, would score goals for Arsenal.”
