What will happen to Gilmour next season—whether he leaves Chelsea on loan or stays—is still up in the air.
The 21-year-return old’s to Scotland has the support of Chelsea legend Pat Nevin, who does not anticipate Billy Gilmour joining Celtic.
The Chelsea legend claims that his family forbade him from moving to Celtic because of the rivalry between Celtic and Rangers.
Neville told the Scottish Sun: “I know Billy a little bit, his family, and, yes, both Rangers and Celtic would fit his style.
But the Celtic one is doubtful, knowing his family.
He is not of my class. Billy is a fantastic player. However, he must be a member of a squad that plays excellent football and is a good fit for him.
I believe that the Celtic and Rangers styles would be suitable for him, but Celtic would not be due to his family.
