Chelsea still has two home games remaining this season, against Leicester City and Watford, and Tuchel has stated that Christensen will not play in any of those games.
“I’m not sure if he’s participating tomorrow or the weekend,” Tuchel said of Christensen’s participation against Leicester City on Thursday.
“On the morning of the game, Andreas came to advise me that he is not ready to play and would not be on the bench. He had his reasons, which he kept hidden and discreet, but this was not the first time we’d seen anything like in recent weeks.
“That’s why he hasn’t played as much in recent weeks; we believed we were making fantastic progress and developing well, and he was outstanding in the game against Leeds before the final.”
“When the dialogue took place, we had to respect it, and we did.” He has our support, but I’m not sure about tomorrow.”
Christensen will leave Chelsea as a free agent at the conclusion of the season, and he has already reached an agreement with Barcelona.
