‘Deal done’ Chelsea submit offer for ‘amazing’ £30m PL star, personal terms already agreed
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Chelsea has submitted a formal bid to sign Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, according to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano. The negotiations are ongoing, and Sanchez has reportedly accepted Chelsea as his preferred destination. Brighton is hoping to see Sanchez leave this summer.
The Daily Mail’s Transfer Confidential email also reported that Sanchez has agreed to join Chelsea this summer. The Spanish goalkeeper is said to have sorted out personal terms for the potential transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Brighton is expected to demand around £30 million for Sanchez’s permanent transfer. Despite falling out of favor at Brighton and being left out of the pre-season tour, the 25-year-old goalkeeper is highly-rated and was previously praised by Brighton’s manager, Graham Potter, for his consistent performances in the Premier League.
If the deal goes through, Sanchez would provide competition for Chelsea’s current goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga. While both goalkeepers are considered decent, they might not be in the elite bracket yet. The decision on who will be Chelsea’s long-term number one will be interesting to see, as Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea’s manager, will have to make that determination.
