Chelsea player passes club medical, €400 million release clause added as £97 million star to hold Tuchel talks
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has reportedly passed his Real Madrid physical ahead of his summer departure, according to reports.
also Last month, it was revealed that the German international would depart Chelsea when his contract ends at the end of the season.
Rudiger will have spent five years at Chelsea after coming from Roma in the summer of 2017, but he will now play for Real Madrid starting next season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
According to The Athletic, the centre-back has already completed his physical at the La Liga giants.
His contract in Spain is estimated to pay him about €9-10 million per year, with a €400 million release clause in case he is signed elsewhere.
Rudiger’s contract will last until 2026, and it will be formalized following Madrid’s Champions League final against Liverpool later this month.
Jules Kounde is one of three or four options for Chelsea to replace him during the summer transfer window.
Tuchel talks to be held by £97 million star
As he continues to be linked with a transfer away this summer, Romelu Lukaku is expected to meet with Thomas Tuchel at the conclusion of the season to discuss his Chelsea future.
Thomas Tuchel wanted to buy a proven top-class attacker and took the huge choice to bring Lukaku back to Chelsea in a £98 million transfer last summer window.
Lukaku has established himself as Italy’s most lethal striker, and many fans hoped that his arrival would bring more goals and prizes to the club’s trophy cabinet.
That has not been the case, as Lukaku has looked nothing like the player who dominated Serie A last season, admitting that he just cannot adapt to Tuchel’s style of play.
Of course, this has sparked conjecture in the media that Chelsea might be willing to let him depart in order to spend the money on a suitable successor.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Lukaku will speak with Tuchel about his future before deciding whether or not to leave the club when the transfer market opens.
“It is too early to think about his future,” he writes in his Caught Offside blog, “but surely Lukaku wishes to meet with Thomas Tuchel at the end of the current season to grasp the club’s objectives since Romelu wants to be a vital player for next season.”
