Paris Saint-Germain is set to have offered Kylian Mbappe a huge contract extension to get him to stay in the French capital once his current contract expires this summer. The 23-year-old has been linked with a transfer to Real Madrid, but the Ligue 1 winners are said to be sure that he will stay.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Mbappe has 24 goals and 13 assists in Ligue 1 this season, so it’s clear to see why Real Madrid and other clubs are interested in signing him this summer. PSG purchased him for £130 million in the summer of 2018 after a season on loan from Monaco, and they will be keen not to lose him on a free transfer.
As a result, the Qatari-backed club is preparing an extravagant bid for Mbappe, which might have a similar inflationary impact on the sport as Neymar’s signing did in 2017. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham could all be affected for years to come.
Antonio Conte discussed the influence of Neymar’s move on Chelsea’s own transfer dealings back in the summer of 2017. Alvaro Morata had just arrived for a club-record £70 million, and the Italian looked content with the new normal.
“It’s a tricky subject. Neymar is one of the finest players in the world, and all of these guys either stay with the same team or switch “At the time, Conte stated.
“We must be prepared to receive such funds. It costs £40 million to £50 million for a normal player, and £100 million or more for a superstar player. It’s a large sum of money, but if PSG can do it, why not?”
PSG has allegedly offered Mbappe a new contract for £42.5 million per year, which equates to £817,000 per week. To put things in perspective, Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly earns £500,000 per week as part of his return to Manchester United.
Mbappe, on the other hand, will allegedly receive an £85.1 million signing bonus in addition to his annual salary. The substantial contract has been signed, according to Le Parisien, albeit it has yet to be publicly revealed. Despite the significant ties to Real Madrid, some reports claim that Mbappe is still considering his alternatives.
If the new deal is signed, equally sought-after players may be able to demand similarly outrageous terms when signing with their new teams. If that were to be the case, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal would surely feel the impact.
