Enzo Maresca, the manager of Chelsea, has shed light on why the club failed to secure the signing of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen on the last day of the transfer window. In a candid conversation, Maresca highlighted that Chelsea is focused on bringing in players under their own specific terms and conditions.

“I spoke with him on the phone about our project at Chelsea, but he didn’t give us a positive response,” Maresca revealed. “We want players, but we wanted a player who would agree to our terms. If a player is not here, then it wasn’t meant to be.”

Chelsea had engaged in discussions to sign the Nigerian forward, but ultimately, a deal could not be finalized. When asked about the possibility of pursuing a new striker in the January transfer window, Maresca remained non-committal, simply stating, “We will see.”
