Jorginho again missed a crucial 87th-minute penalty against West Ham, as his tame effort was easily saved by Lukasz Fabianski.
The Chelsea midfielder looked distraught after the miss but was spared by Christian Pulisic’s 90th-minute goal.
Despite Chelsea winning the game, Jorginho still looked very sad at full-time and had to be consoled by manager Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel admitted after the game that Jorginho was still very upset: “If you get a late penalty and Jorgi with a perfect record for us, we all believed we had the goal that we needed.
After his embrace with Tuchel, Jorginho met Kenedy waiting for him by the tunnel leading back to the changing rooms. The Brazilian tried to cajole his teammate with an enthusiastic embrace, but it still didn’t work out.
“He has a certain style of shooting – when he scores what he did on 100 percent level, it looks unbelievably cool, calm, and composed.
“When he misses a penalty, it looks like could he have done better but it’s his style and he’s right to stick to it. He’s very upset with himself and very happy that Puli turned things around.”
