“We’re coming back, I’m making sure he comes back”.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Noni Madueke has expressed confidence in Levi Colwill’s future at Chelsea after the pair won the Under-21 European Championships with England. Colwill played as a starter in England’s victory against Spain’s Under-21 team, where a fortunate strike from Curtis Jones secured the win. Throughout the tournament, England did not concede a single goal, largely due to Colwill’s exceptional performances in defense.
There have been reports suggesting that Brighton is prepared to offer a club-record £40 million for Colwill, who is eager for regular first-team football. Mauricio Pochettino, the Chelsea manager, is said to be a big admirer of the talented academy graduate and wants to offer him a new contract.
After the match against Spain, Noni Madueke stated on camera that both he and Colwill will be returning to Chelsea, and he will ensure that Colwill stays at the club. Colwill responded with laughter, keeping his intentions close to his chest.
In our opinion, Pochettino would be wise to utilize Colwill in the upcoming season. The Southampton-born defender had an outstanding campaign in 2022/23, and his performances at the Under-21 European Championships showcased his composure, passing ability, and vision. Left-footed central defenders of Colwill’s caliber are rare to find, and Pochettino would be making a mistake not to include him in the starting lineup for the 2023/24 season.
If Pochettino cannot guarantee Colwill a prominent role after his rapid rise over the past year, Colwill would be justified in seeking a transfer away from Stamford Bridge.
