Welcome to club: Chelsea complete signing of defender on a three-year contract

The transfer was finalized after the clubs agreed on a £4 million fee, and Samuels-Smith has signed a three-year contract with Chelsea until June 2026.
Samuels-Smith was highly regarded at Everton and had previously been included as an unused substitute in their Carabao Cup match against AFC Bournemouth in November. He was also part of the first-team match squad against Fulham in April.

Expressing his excitement after completing the move, Samuels-Smith told the official Chelsea website, “It was a surprise to me because everything happened quickly, but I’m extremely happy to be here.”
“It’s going to be a good experience coming into such a big club. It will be a new challenge because there are top players here, so I am going to have to adapt quickly and get through the levels.”
Chelsea have already completed the signings of Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Alex Matos and Diego Moreira this summer.
