Initial discussions have begun as Bayern Munich considers signing a £68 million Chelsea player, following recent links to another member of Enzo Maresca’s squad.
Chelsea’s Potential Summer Sales
Todd Boehly and the Stamford Bridge board are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window, both in terms of new arrivals and departures, as they support Maresca’s new era at Chelsea. Tosin Adarabioyo is already set to join Chelsea on a free transfer from Fulham, even before the window officially opens. Chelsea may add another center-back alongside Tosin and a new striker, according to Fabrizio Romano, but some players will need to leave to make room for these new additions.
Players on the Selling Block
Several Chelsea players might be on the move this summer, including Kepa Arrizabalaga, Romelu Lukaku, Armando Broja, Conor Gallagher, Trevoh Chalobah, Malang Sarr, and even Raheem Sterling. Ian Maatsen is another player likely to depart. The Dutchman, who played a key role in Borussia Dortmund’s run to the Champions League final under Edin Terzic last season, has a £35 million release clause. Dortmund is interested in signing him permanently, and Bayern Munich is also considering bringing Maatsen to Germany.
Bayern’s Interest in Levi Colwill
Maatsen isn’t the only Chelsea player attracting attention from Vincent Kompany and his team. Levi Colwill, valued at around £68 million by Chelsea to deter suitors last year, is now on Bayern’s radar.
Bayern Munich’s Interest in Colwill
Bayern Munich is currently pursuing Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah as a center-back option. However, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern is also considering Colwill as an alternative and might even try to sign both players.
Initial talks have taken place as Bayern seriously considers signing Colwill. Plettenberg shared this news on X (formerly Twitter) this week. Colwill started 20 league games for Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino last season and delivered some outstanding performances. PSG has also expressed interest in Colwill, so it will be interesting to see if Maresca is open to letting him move to Europe.
