‘We are in this together we will solve it together’ Chelsea £30m star now ‘committed to staying’ at Stamford Bridge
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!According to transfer insider Dean Jones, Chelsea and N’Golo Kanté have a strong commitment to each other. Despite rumors linking the midfielder to Arsenal, both parties have expressed their desire to continue their relationship for at least another year.
One report from Spain had claimed that the Frenchman had already agreed to join the Gunners in the summer, as his contract with Chelsea will expire at the end of the season. However, other sources suggest that Kanté could stay at Stamford Bridge beyond this campaign.
Football Insider has reported that Kanté’s priority is to remain in west London. The 32-year-old joined Chelsea from Leicester City in a £30m deal back in 2016.
Dean Jones has confirmed that Kanté and Chelsea both want to continue working together for another year, saying: “I mean, Kanté and Chelsea both seem to be pretty committed to carrying this on for another year. I think Chelsea kind of need that from him right now, too.”
Chelsea cannot afford to let Kanté join Arsenal. The Gunners have had a better season than the Blues, and letting arguably their best player move to Emirates Stadium would not help them close the gap. Despite the midfielder’s injury problems, he is an incredible player when he is fit, as demonstrated by his 2.3 tackles per game in the Premier League last season, which was the highest average in Chelsea’s squad.
Thomas Tuchel, Kanté’s former manager, praised the midfielder for his unique abilities, saying: “He is so unique, and I don’t know anybody that doesn’t love him, even friends and family, friends who support other teams, they all love N’Golo Kanté. There is a reason for this.”
Overall, Chelsea should aim to keep hold of Kanté this summer, despite his fitness concerns. He is a vital player for the club, and losing him to a rival would be a significant blow.
