Despite making mistakes in Chelsea’s past two games, Kepa Arrizabalaga remains in goal. After having surgery to treat a finger fracture he sustained during training, Edouard Mendy is still not in the starting XI. Marcus Bettinelli is once again one of the subs.
Trevoh Chalobah will be used at right-back and is still in the starting lineup, which appears to be a back four. In the centre, Thiago Silva is joined by Benoit Badiashile, who makes his debut after moving from Monaco in the offseason. Lewis Hall still playing left back.
After starting on the bench against Fulham on Thursday night, Jorginho rejoins the midfield. Alongside Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher, who is also back in the lineup, will play as the team’s number eight.
Potter’s options in the frontline are constrained because Christian Pulisic, Raheem Sterling, and Armando Broja are all out with injuries, while Joao Felix is on suspension. In place of January’s David Datro Fofana, he has chosen to stick with Kai Havertz as the number nine, and the German will be paired with midweek starters Hakim Ziyech and Carney Chukwuemeka.
Kepa, Chalobah, Silva, Badiashile, Hall, Jorginho, Mount, Gallagher, Ziyech, Havertz, and Chukwuemeka are Chelsea’s other key players.
Bettinelli, Koulibaly, Azpilicueta, Humphreys, Cucurella, Loftus-Cheek, Kovacic, Aubameyang, and Fofana are among Chelsea’s replacements.
