According to reports, the Premier League will review the controversial VAR decisions made at Stamford Bridge and St James’ Park yesterday with the referees’ governing body PGMOL.
Newcastle also had a disputed VAR decision overturned when their game-winning goal against Crystal Palace was overruled.
West Ham manager David Moyes was furious with the decision, calling it a “scandalous decision” and “rotten.”
“It is a disgusting judgment, completely horrible from one of the allegedly expert officials,” he told Sky Sports after the game.
“It also doesn’t tell much about whoever sent him over from VAR.” It’s a heinous decision against us.”
The Premier League will now conduct a priority evaluation of VAR’s operation alongside refereeing body PGMOL.
