Chelsea’s young team has been given some new coaches.
Mark Robinson has been appointed as the head coach of Chelsea’s youth squad.
Robinson, who has a strong reputation in the young game, spent the most of his coaching career at AFC Wimbledon, where he served as head of the club’s academy and youth team coach before taking over as manager of the senior side for 14 months.
This summer, the club also hired Andy Myers, a former defender, as a loan player technical coach.

Myers has coached in our young development program for over a decade, starting with the Under-15s and progressing to the Under-21s and Under-19s. In 2013/14, he was part of the backroom staff that helped the Under-21s win the league title and win consecutive UEFA Youth League titles.
“We’re happy to welcome Mark to the club,” stated Head of Youth Development Neil Bath on Mark Robinson’s arrival. He brings a wealth of expertise in both youth development and senior football, allowing the Academy to continue to prepare players for the professional game.
“We are optimistic that Mark will fit into our style of thinking and that he will contribute significantly to the individual and collective development of our players.” We’re excited for Mark to start working in pre-season.”
