Chelsea was thought to be the only team interested in Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, but that may not be the case now.

Barcelona, according to sources, has entered the battle for the 23-year-old.

Barcelona is reportedly threatening to sabotage Chelsea’s attempts to acquire Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.

Barcelona understands that they will not be able to match Chelsea’s financial power, but they are willing to consider a multi-player swap with Sevilla in order to beat Chelsea to the signing.

In return for Kounde, Barcelona is willing to give Francisco Trincao and Sergino Dest to Sevilla.

Chelsea were unable to recruit Kounde last summer due to a lack of agreement between the two sides. Chelsea will be eager to complete the deal this time, especially with many key defenders departing.
