Chelsea is reportedly interested in PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe, according to German writer Christian Falk.
Presnel Kimpembe is restless at PSG and has been linked with a summer transfer away from the French capital.
According to transfer source Dean Jones, Blues manager Thomas Tuchel, who knows Kimpembe well from his time at PSG, is eager to see the trade materialize.
“Tuchel genuinely loves him,” Jones told GiveMeSport. “He’s made it known to the recruiters that that’s the case.”
“And Tuchel is receiving special clearance this summer to go and grab the players he wants, so that’s one to keep an eye on right now — an interesting one.”
Kimpembe’s contract with PSG expires in two years, and he has yet to agree to terms on a new agreement.
Before committing his future to the club, the 26-year-old has stated that he needs to know what the club’s intentions are for him.
“I mentioned I was approaching 27 years old and that my next deal would be important,” he explained.
“I’d like to be able to see what the club’s initiative will include. I didn’t say anything inappropriate.
“When I was nine or ten years old, I joined the club.” I believe it is reasonable to inquire about the future project and the function that will be assigned to me by my club.
“Right now, I’m focused on the France squad and tomorrow’s match [in the UEFA Nations League against Croatia].”
