According to reports, if Marc Cucurella is signed this summer, Thomas Tuchel may explore utilizing him as a center-back.

The Brighton player, who has spent the majority of the past year at left-back, has been heavily linked with a move to the Blues today.
The world has praised him for his performances this past season, but none more so than Brighton chairman Tony Bloom, who called him a “tremendous” player.
Since they only had Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker as full-back options for this season, Manchester City was initially predicted to complete a contract for the 24-year-old.
Cucurella might play center defense for Tuchel.
Supporters are already wondering where he will play in light of the fact that Ben Chilwell is already available to the Blues for the left-back position and that the Blues are rumored to be more inclined to pay the transfer money requested by Brighton.
However, according to The Telegraph, the England international may not be substituted because Tuchel considers Cucurella a viable alternative for the back three.
Even with the failures in the Jules Kounde affair last month, the Blues may be only one more center-back away from having a very successful window in terms of hiring in the back.
He would be joining a team that already has Thiago Silva and Kalidou Koulibaly, who would be ideal role models for him to learn from if there were any concerns about his ability to play at center back as well.
As the Blues attempt to cut the gap on the top two this time around, securing the signing over direct rivals Manchester City will be a major statement about where they stand in the current market.
