Chelsea transfer news: Carlo Ancelotti has informed Eden Hazard of his position within the Real Madrid hierarchy as supporters wait for a turnaround in performance.
If Graham Potter were to ask Chelsea supporters who their ideal forward acquisition would be, a select group of individuals would frequently be mentioned.
Football player Christopher Nkunku would likely be mentioned.
He has a pre-agreement to join the club next summer, as do Raphael Leao and Dusan Vlahovic, according to London. Then there would be many who would want Eden Hazard to return.
The winger’s potential return to the team he departed three seasons ago is frequently mentioned. They thought that Frank Lampard would provide expertise and a spark to a revamped attack, and when Thomas Tuchel took over, those hopes grew even greater as the attackers faltered and Hazard had trouble in Madrid.
At 31, Hazard is the same age as Kalidou Koulibaly, who just agreed to a four-year contract with the team, and is still two years younger than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. His egregious lack of football experience and injury history are the problems. In three complete seasons of La Liga, he has only participated in 51 league games, missing 72 games during that time.
He made his lone start of the season against Celtic on the opening night of the Champions League group stage; otherwise, he has played a total of only 100 minutes and has been an unused substitute in six games. The possibility of ever getting him back to Stamford Bridge seems to be fading. Chelsea is unlikely to want to pay a transfer price for him because he still has two years remaining on his contract, but Madrid won’t want to miss out on a player who cost them £100 million.
His near future also doesn’t appear to be very promising. The prospect of developing match sharpness isn’t promising because he has Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr., Karim Benzema, Fede Valverde, and Marco Asensio ahead of him. Manager Carlo Ancelotti said this before the group stage match with Shakhtar Donetsk: “He knows the situation very well, every player understands his situation very well: there’s lot of competition here.”
Potter is new to Chelsea and joined Brighton the summer Hazard departed. As a result, he may not be aware of the continued affection for the winger, but all he would need to do is go on social media to see the heartbreaking hope that Hazard would someday return to Chelsea.
On Tuesday, several supporters urged the former Blues manager to “release my kid,” while others begged Hazard to “come back home” on Twitter. Others imagined the team Potter could assemble: “Todd Boelhy just bring Hazard back please; picture Hazard, Kante, and Kovacic together in the middle of the field.” The problem with that is that there are also concerns about Kante, Kovacic, and Hazard’s physical condition.
One supporter thought that despite being in his 30s, Hazard may eventually join Chelsea as Aubameyang did. In the end, supporters just want Hazard to perform at his peak again since keeping him on the sidelines isn’t helping anyone. Potter may not want to move to SW6 right now, but Chelsea supporters won’t give up on their ambition.
