Three clubs are already bidding for Mauricio Pochettino after he leaves Chelsea
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Chelsea announced on Tuesday that Mauricio Pochettino has left the club by mutual consent. Despite not securing Champions League football for next season, Pochettino’s time at Stamford Bridge wasn’t without its merits. He managed to navigate a season riddled with injuries, leading Chelsea to a respectable sixth place finish after a strong end-of-season run.
Departure and Potential Successors
The decision for both parties to part ways comes as a surprise, given the team’s late surge in form. One of the names now linked to the Chelsea managerial position is Burnley boss Vincent Kompany.
Interest in Pochettino
It hasn’t even been 24 hours since Pochettino’s departure, yet several top clubs are already eyeing him. According to The Independent, three of Europe’s elite clubs—Manchester United, Juventus, and Bayern Munich—are interested in securing his services. Juventus and Bayern are both in managerial limbo, with Juventus parting ways with Massimiliano Allegri and Bayern with Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel’s Potential Return
Interestingly, Tuchel has been mentioned as a possible return candidate for Chelsea. However, insider Graeme Bailey has informed The Chelsea Chronicle that a Tuchel homecoming is unlikely.
Potential Consequences for Chelsea
The prospect of Pochettino joining Manchester United could spell trouble for Chelsea. If Pochettino succeeds at United while Chelsea struggles under new management, it will raise serious questions about Chelsea’s decision-making and leadership. Allowing a capable manager to join a direct rival without a fight could prove costly.
In hindsight, convincing Pochettino to stay might have been the better move. However, it’s clear that Chelsea’s management was content with the mutual separation. As Pochettino looks forward to his next role, Chelsea must quickly find a successor to steer the team through the upcoming season.
