‘They will definitely fire back with a lot of power’ Jude Bellingham warns Borussia Dortmund team-mates
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! In the second leg of their Champions League match, Borussia Dortmund captain Jude Bellingham has cautioned his team that they would be put to the test by Chelsea.
Following a victory in the opening match against the Blues on Wednesday in Germany, Dortmund will enter the second match with a 1-0 lead.
Bellingham led the squad admirably as they faced formidable opponents once more, and he applauded his team’s effort.
Bellingham told CBS Sports Golazo: “It felt nice.” Compared to what we have to deal with in a few weeks, it’s a minor victory.
We can be really proud of how we played and how we defended in the second half, but we need to recognise it’s not over and they can surely come back with a lot of power. We have to go to Stamford Bridge and earn another favourable result.
He did, however, acknowledge Chelsea’s threat, noting that Graham Potter’s team had plenty of chances to score but were unsuccessful.
March 7 will see the return match.
For us, it’ll be a fantastic experience, Bellingham predicted of the match. All of us have fantasies of participating in matches like that, when we travel to play formidable opponents and attempt to produce a result that advances our team to the next round.
You have to appreciate such kinds of games; you can’t avoid them, and we’ll be ready for them in the second leg.
Karim Adeyemi, the game’s lone goal scorer, was also lauded by the midfielder. Adeyemi displayed amazing speed to run more than half the pitch before scoring.
Bellingham disagreed with Chelsea’s strategy but admired his teammate’s performance.
It was simply pace, he explained. Considering that Karim was going to be breaking, I was surprised they just left one back.
“He utilised the qualities we all know he has and see in practise. He got the ball under control well.”
