“Stop blaming Todd Boehly” – Simon Jordan shows one man to blame for Chelsea’s problems and it’s not Todd Boehly
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Simon Jordan is of the opinion that Mauricio Pochettino should take accountability for Chelsea’s disappointing start to the season.
Chelsea has garnered just five points from their initial six Premier League games, and Jordan places the blame on Pochettino rather than Todd Boehly and the club’s owners.
During a talkSPORT discussion, the former Crystal Palace chairman stated: “You look at the £400m that they’ve spent this summer, that has to be in conjunction with Pochettino, yet we see nothing in terms of an improvement.”
Jordan emphasized that, despite Chelsea creating numerous chances, their wastefulness in front of the goal only masks the deeper issues within the team.
Later, he further expressed his concern, leaning more towards scrutinizing the performance on the field than focusing on the club’s management.
In their recent match, Chelsea suffered a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa, marking their third loss of the season. It’s undeniably a troubling start for Pochettino and his squad.
While acknowledging Chelsea’s injuries, including key players like Christopher Nkunku and Reece James, Jordan firmly believes that the squad possesses the potential to perform better, especially considering they failed to score in games they were expected to win.
Despite having £100m midfielders in their ranks, Chelsea has struggled to showcase their quality under Pochettino’s guidance. The blame, however, isn’t solely on the manager, as the players must also be held accountable for their lack of efficiency in converting opportunities.
Jordan highlighted instances where players missed crucial chances, illustrating that Pochettino can’t personally change the outcome of these wasted opportunities. Ultimately, the responsibility lies with the players to execute their roles effectively on the field.
