On June 29th, Corriere dello Sport reported that Chelsea is “trying a lunge” for Sergej Milinkovi-Savi of Lazio during the summer transfer window.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!A feasible alternative for the Blues, according to the report, is to give the Serie A team €50 million plus Emerson Palmieri in return for the midfielder.
Il Messaggero has published a story outlining the Serie A team’s ambitions for this summer, as well as providing specifics regarding the situation with the Serbian international.
The Biancocelesti have a lot of unanswered questions. The 27-year-future old’s is the one that worries them the most; the bids he has received are in the range of €50-55 million, but club chairman Claudio Lotito is unconvinced.
Mateja Keman, the agent for Milinkovi-Savi, is adamant that his client won’t stay in Rome. For preseason training, the player is scheduled to return to Lazio, but he ‘doesn’t want to stay’ there till the end of the transfer window.
In a move that would allow Lazio to sign Emerson and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Maurizio Sarri has “tried to push” the former Genk player toward Chelsea. Unfortunately, neither the manager nor Lazio “are engaged in any heated negotiations at this time.”
It would be interesting to watch whether this argument picks up steam in the coming weeks given that Milinkovi-Savi is eager to depart and that Sarri is attempting to push him to Chelsea.
