‘It as been sealed” Chelsea star leaving for Manchester City in the summer cannot be ruled out
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!According to The Athletic, there is a possibility of Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell leaving the club for Premier League rivals Manchester City, as Pep Guardiola is keen on signing a left-back this summer.
Chilwell, who was a target for Guardiola before joining Chelsea for £50million ($60.2m) in 2020, is reportedly among the 12 players at Chelsea with just one or two years left on their contracts, and the club will consider offers for them to help meet financial fair play rules and reduce the size of the squad.
As Chilwell is 26 and an England international, Chelsea reportedly believe they could receive a high transfer fee for him, and have a potential replacement in Marc Cucurella. Meanwhile, Lewis Hall or Ian Maatsen, currently on loan at Championship leaders Burnley and impressing, could serve as back-up to Cucurella at left-back should Chilwell depart in the summer.
