Reporter claims Reece James could be sold if this doesn’t stop
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Reece James’ potential departure from Chelsea might occur sooner than anticipated, as per a report from Sport. The report suggests that Chelsea could consider selling their captain, Reece James if suitable offers are presented.
James, who was made captain after Jorginho and Cesar Azpilicueta’s departure earlier in the summer, had hopes of being a key player in the team following his return to full fitness during pre-season. However, the 23-year-old experienced a recurring hamstring injury during training after his early exit in Chelsea’s opening Premier League game against Liverpool.
His absence has allowed Malo Gusto to gain some playing time, although Gusto may return to the bench upon James’ recovery.
Sport’s report indicates that Chelsea might entertain offers for James at a “good price” due to his frequent injury troubles. Real Madrid, a Spanish club, is reportedly considering a £40 million proposal (£34.35 million) by the end of the season, as they are in need of a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal, who is 31 years old and has less than two years remaining on his contract.
However, the report mentions that Real Madrid is unlikely to offer as much as €65 million (£55.82 million), a valuation that has been previously suggested.
