According to author Dean Jones, Wesley Fofana joining Chelsea would be “crazy.”
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The defender from Leicester City, who this summer might bring more than £80 million, is reportedly a target for the west London team.
In ahead of his potential transfer to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea and Fofana have reportedly established a personal understanding, according to the MailOnline.
The newspaper claims that the 21-year-old is eligible for a contract for about £200,000 per week. But in order for a move to go place, the Blues could need to give him the biggest defence price in all of football.
Leicester valued Fofana at more than £80 million, which is more than Manchester United spent for Harry Maguire in 2019, according to the same MailOnline piece.
Fofana’s club fell to Arsenal at the Emirates the last time they played after surrendering four goals, but Chelsea, which has made two unsuccessful approaches for the Frenchman in the past, won’t be discouraged.
Jones thinks it is ridiculous that Chelsea ultimately paid more than £80 million to buy Fofana.
The transfer source added in a statement to GIVEMESPORT: “It’s unbelievable, really. We are genuinely looking at one of, if not the largest contract for a defender that we have ever seen. That is how important this transfer is beginning to appear at this point. That this is where it has come to is absurd.
