Chelsea has a new sleeve sponsor, which will take over from Hyundai next season, according to sources.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Hyundai was the sleeve sponsor this season, but their partnership with the club was terminated after the club and its Russian owner, Roman Abramovich, were sanctioned.
Hyundai’s contract was for £12.m per year, but according to The Telegraph, Whalen, a cryptocurrency company, will replace Hyundai after agreeing to a contract worth far more than Hyundai’s.
The new sponsorship arrangement is reported to be worth £20 million per year, dwarfing Hyundai’s previous earnings.
The WhaleFin agreement was in place before Todd Boehly and his investors won the Chelsea bid.
All that remains is for the UK government and the Premier League to confirm Todd Boehly as Chelsea’s new owner, after which he will be free to sign the deal.
Following the club’s punishments, Chelsea’s primary shirt sponsors Three halted their relationship with the club and asked that their emblems be removed off Chelsea shirts and the training site.
Due to the fines, Chelsea was unable to match Three’s expectations, and with just one year remaining on their contract, Chelsea will be seeking a new sponsorship agreement to replace Three once the Todd Boehly proposal is finalized.
