The Boehly era has arrived, with manager Thomas Tuchel reportedly spearheading the effort in terms of transfers. Our declared goal is to restore the defense, as well as the midfield, which is showing signs of wear and tear. According to Sky Sports, PSV midfielder Ibrahim Sangaré is one player who might be on our radar for the second phase.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! In 2020, the 24-year-old Côte d’Ivoire international signed a five-year contract with PSV from Toulouse. With 58 games, he rapidly established himself as a pillar of their team, with many of them coming alongside captain and former Chelsea player Marco van Ginkel. PSV finished second in the Eredivisie the previous two seasons, but won the Dutch Cup this year.
Sangaré might suit the mold of a potential successor to N’Golo Kanté, with Chelsea expected to lose out on AS Monaco’s Aurélien Tchouaméni to Real Madrid. PSV’s defensive star, he would cost around a third of the €100 million Madrid is paying for Tchouaméni. Sangaré’s contract is thought to have a €35 million release clause.
Sangaré, unlike Tchouaméni, appears to want to transfer to the Premier League, maybe as soon as this summer – though Chelsea aren’t the only ones interested, with Manchester United and former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag also showing an interest.
