Theo Hernandez of Milan, a defender, collided with the England international at San Siro, forcing Hernandez to leave the field.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Tuesday’s victory for Graham Potter and his team versus AC Milan couldn’t have gone any better. The Blues easily defeated the Serie A champions for the second week in a straight, and with two games remaining, they have topped their Champions League group.
The injury sustained by Wesley Fofana during Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Milan last week was the only drawback, and the game at San Siro raised even another injury issue for the Blues. Reece James had to leave the game in the second half due to an injury, and Chelsea and England fans are hoping against hope that he gets well soon.
The defender collided with Theo Hernandez and was left holding his knee. James’ injury’s extent is still unknown, although a Telegraph article implies that it is not significant.
James tweeted shortly after the game that he was keeping his “fingers crossed” that it wasn’t a serious injury. He stated: “Crossing our fingers that it’s a good one. I’m grateful for each and every message I’ve received.”
James shared a slightly more enigmatic statement on social media on Thursday that might or might not have been related to his worries about getting hurt. Prior to Sunday’s game against Aston Villa, Potter is set to provide an update on James’ injury during his news conference.
The 22-year-old shared a post from @artofpoets on his Instagram story. The message said: “No outcomes? Work on it. bad outcomes Work on it. great outcomes? Work on it. The secret is consistency.”
