We have reached the conclusion of the trip after months of negotiating for a new owner for the team.
The Premier League Board of Directors has given its approval to Todd Boehly’s acquisition of Chelsea Football Club.
The Todd Boehly Consortium has been authorized as the new owners of the club, according to a statement made Tuesday evening. The £4.25 billion acquisition now awaits Government clearance.
“The Premier League Board has today authorized the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Consortium’s proposed purchase of Chelsea Football Club,” the announcement stated.
“The acquisition is contingent on the government providing the requisite selling license and the transaction’s final steps being completed satisfactorily.”
“The Board has conducted due diligence on all potential Directors using the Premier League’s Owners’ and Directors’ Test (OADT).” Clearlake Capital Group, LP associates Todd Boehly, Hansjorg Wyss, and Mark Walter are among the Consortium members who are acquiring the club.
“Chelsea FC will now negotiate with the appropriate governments to get the licenses required to finalize the takeover.”
