Edouard Mendy committed yet another error on Saturday, September 3, against West Ham United, which led Chelsea supporters to call for his expulsion.

Mendy was unable to make a solid stop after Jared Bowen floated a shot into the box. After receiving possession of the ball, Declan Rice found Michail Antonio, who successfully completed a close-range shot to give his team the lead.
Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz scored goals for the Blues to complete their comeback.
Later, Mendy made a mistake and gave West Ham the opportunity to score the equaliser. However, the goal was controversially overturned due to a foul on the goalie.
Chelsea won the game despite the Senegalese having a really fortunate moment. After six league games, the Thomas Tuchel-led squad has accumulated 10 points.
However, Mendy faced harassment from the fans on social media. The goaltender made a disastrous mistake on August 21 against Leeds United, when his team was defeated 3-0.
Many supporters noted that the winner of the UEFA Best Goalkeeper Award in 2021 makes mistakes far too frequently for their taste.
Another person remarked that if backup goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga had committed even a small portion of those mistakes, the crowd would have demanded his sale.
The Chelsea supporters believe that Mendy should be benched so that he can regain his form.
