Thibaut Courtois, a former Chelsea goalkeeper, was sensational for Real Madrid in their Champions League final victory over Liverpool.

Courtois was happy with his performance, having defeated three English clubs to win the Champions League, and he felt he had been treated unfairly for a long time.
Courtois responded to his detractors in the Premier League after the game, stating, “Yesterday in the press conference, I mentioned that when Madrid plays finals, they win.” I was on the right side of history at the time.
“I noticed a lot of tweets saying I’d be humbled today, but it was the exact opposite.”
“I wanted to win a final today for my career, for all the hard work I’ve put in to earn respect for my name, which I don’t think I get enough of, especially in England.” Even after a fantastic season, I received a lot of criticism.
“I am quite pleased with the team. We kept to it, and I was there for the squad when I needed to be.
“We defeated some of the world’s greatest clubs.” This season, Manchester City and Liverpool were outstanding. Liverpool won two cups and were extremely strong in the Premier League, where they fought until the bitter end.
“Today was a fantastic game for us. We just had one chance, and we took it.”
