Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! As we approach the end of July, Chelsea’s transfer activity has been relatively slow, with only two signings made so far, both of whom are young and lack experience. Nicolas Jackson and Angelo Gabriel are talented players but do not provide the much-needed experience at Stamford Bridge. Additionally, Christopher Nkunku’s transfer was finalized months ago.
The club’s pursuit of Moises Caicedo is still ongoing, and the lack of a senior goalkeeper option and an experienced No.9 are also areas of concern. Mauricio Pochettino, the Chelsea manager, is reportedly worried about the lack of experience in the squad and the slow progress in negotiations for transfer targets.
While Chelsea has an exciting group of young talents, a successful squad also requires experienced players to guide and mentor them throughout the season. Currently, there are only a few players aged 28 or over at Chelsea, raising concerns about the team’s overall experience. The Premier League opener against Liverpool is approaching, and it is hoped that Chelsea will make some signings soon to address these concerns.
