According to sources, Marina Granovskaia, a former Chelsea executive, may still be essential in the acquisition of Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! As soon as Todd Boehly took over as Chelsea’s owner, Gravonskaia resigned from her position as a director at Stamford Bridge.
However, a statement published at the time of her departure said that she would still be available to the owner until the end of the summer transfer season.
This suggests that she may still be a significant asset if Chelsea chooses to pursue Senegalese defender Koulibaly, who is said to be leaving Napoli this summer.
Antonio Rudiger departed the Blues for Real Madrid on a free transfer, while Andreas Christensen’s move to Barcelona is almost done, leaving gaps in the defense.
Previously on loan from Huddersfield Town, Levi Colwill, is a defender who wants to contend for a slot in London. However, Fabrizio Romano has said that Chelsea will purchase two center backs this summer.
Chelsea’s primary defensive priority right now is Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt, who is currently in the lead.
Koulibaly is being pursued by the Blues along with long-term targets Nathan Ake and Jules Kounde.
According to Calciomercato, Granovskaia has “excellent relationships” with Napoli and Koulibaly’s agent Fali Ramadani, which might make it simpler for Chelsea to strike a big deal for the center-back.
It is believed that Ramadani is currently in London to meet with Koulibaly’s potential suitors.
Juventus is allegedly interested in the defender as well, so Chelsea is not alone in its hunt.
However, Napoli would much prefer have the player go overseas than have him sold to a competitor.
The Blues are allegedly interested in signing Koulibaly even though he may not be their first selection.
With just one year remaining on his present deal, Napoli could attempt to get him to sign a new one or let him go this summer.
Ramadani previously had “established links” with Granovskaia, and the former director also had a “personal relationship” with Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis.
There’s space for haggling this summer.
Granovskaia may leave Chelsea permanently when the transfer window closes, making the deal her final for the club.
