Marc Cucurella Sidelined for Liverpool Clash Due to Suspension – Unveils Chelsea WhatsApp Secrets
After accumulating five yellow cards, Marc Cucurella will miss the much-anticipated match against Liverpool. But while he’s sitting out, Cucurella has spilled the beans on some behind-the-scenes details at Chelsea, specifically about their team’s WhatsApp group chat.
A Season of Redemption for Cucurella
Marc Cucurella has been one of Chelsea’s standout performers this season. After a rocky patch last year where he struggled to secure a consistent spot in the lineup, he’s now found his rhythm and delivered some solid performances.
His displays during the summer’s Euros for Spain really turned heads, particularly Chelsea’s, and Enzo Maresca was particularly impressed. Phil Thompson also expressed his surprise at Cucurella’s resurgence.
As this campaign kicks off, Cucurella has been nothing short of electric, earning praise from pundits like Darren Bent, who nearly included him in his Premier League Team of the Season so far.
Behind the Scenes at Chelsea – The WhatsApp Group Revelation
Fans always dream about getting an insider peek into the goings-on at top clubs like Chelsea. And recently, Marc Cucurella gave a little insight. During an interview on Sky Sports’ YouTube channel, Cucurella answered questions about life behind the scenes at the club, and the team’s WhatsApp group became a hot topic.
Surprisingly, Cucurella revealed that although many non-players are part of the chat, Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s manager, is not. Here’s what Cucurella said when asked if the boss is included:
“No, it’s just for the players and a few staff members like Kevin and others. They’re the ones who help us with scheduling training times, days off, and things like that.”
What Else Did Cucurella Share?
In the same interview, Cucurella opened up about the separate WhatsApp group the Spanish players at Chelsea use. According to him, they share a lot of humorous content, like TikToks and funny videos, in this group.
Though he didn’t name every member, it’s easy to assume players like Marc Guiu and Robert Sanchez are part of the group. Whether it’s exclusive to Spanish-speaking players or only those born in Spain wasn’t made clear.
Cucurella said, “We have another one with the Spanish players where we send silly stuff like TikToks and random things.”
