Nemanja Matic has announced his decision to leave Manchester United at the end of the season, and he played his last game at Old Trafford in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Thursday night.
Matic has enjoyed success in the Premier League, though mostly at Chelsea.
After a stellar career at Chelsea where he won three Premier League titles over two stints, Matic moved to Manchester United in 2017.
After 5 years at Man United, the 33-year-old Serbian still loves Chelsea and while he hailed Manchester United, he also admitted Chelsea would always remain a special club in his heart.
Matic told Sky Sports: “We showed we didn’t give up, we showed some character.
“For me, it has been a pleasure to play at Old Trafford for five years and I will do my best to help the team. United will stay forever in my heart, along with Chelsea.
“There have to be better times ahead. United is a big club, expectations are high.”
