Juventus had signed Vlahovic from Fiorentina in January 2021 for £66.6 million and are reportedly looking to recoup a similar fee. Chelsea will need to increase their bid significantly if they want to secure the services of the 23-year-old forward.
The fact that Chelsea made a substantial offer for Vlahovic suggests that manager Mauricio Pochettino is not planning to rely solely on Nicolas Jackson as the main striker for the upcoming season. While Jackson has the potential to become a standout player, the bid for Vlahovic indicates Pochettino’s desire for a marquee striker addition.
