Lukaku reveals the state of his mind after recent treatment from Tuchel
Romelu Lukaku was touted to be the man who would lead Chelsea to a Premier League title, which the Blues had not won in five years, after signing for a club-record cost of £97.5 million.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Lukaku has struggled to adapt to the Chelsea team after a strong start to the season, and the big-money signing is now an outsider.
In the Premier League defeat to Everton, he was an unused replacement, a new low for the Belgium international.
Lukaku last played 90 minutes of football in February, and he has only made one start in 2022.
When Tuchel made his final replacements against Everton, Lukaku appeared dejected on the bench, and according to Goal, the player is ‘unhappy with his lack of playing time’ under Tuchel and is investigating alternative options as he seeks for a new club this summer.
Lukaku’s £325k per week wage, which makes him one of the highest-paid players in the world, might be a major stumbling block to a summer exit.
Former Chelsea defender Frank Sinclair, on the other hand, has chastised Tuchel for not putting Lukaku on against Everton.
“There’s a major problem with Romelu Lukaku,” Sinclair told Stadium Astro. With ten minutes to go in a game when you need a goal and you’ve got a guy who has scored so many goals and given this football club so many nice feelings, it seemed illogical not to bring him in and give him 10 or 15 minutes to try and change the game and get something out of it.
“Especially towards the end of the game when you’re chasing the game and getting crosses in the box at will.” I was astonished that he was left on the bench.
“They’ve clearly spent a lot of money to get him back to the football club, but I don’t like his body language. There was one performance, in particular, a few weeks ago where he received a lot of flak for his general effort and application in the game, and that’s something I don’t like.”
“I wouldn’t be shocked if he left, but I believe Chelsea will want to reclaim as much money as possible.” It would be more appropriate for him to return to Inter, where he liked his football and scored goals.”
