Things are going well for Levi Colwill, Noni Madueke, and Chelsea as they continue to push forward in the Premier League. Sitting comfortably in fourth place, Chelsea are eyeing Champions League qualification. Key to this strong start has been the contributions of Colwill and Madueke, who have played pivotal roles for Enzo Maresca this season.
Madueke’s Impact Against Nottingham Forest
Noni Madueke has been a standout for Chelsea in recent games, with his performance in their 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest being particularly impressive. Madueke managed 20 touches in the opposition’s box and even found the back of the net, showcasing his attacking prowess.
The Disagreement Between Colwill and Madueke
During a recent training session at Cobham, things got a bit heated between Colwill and Madueke. The two players had a disagreement, but it’s clear there’s no bad blood between them. In an interview posted on Chelsea’s official YouTube channel, Colwill opened up about the incident, explaining that they had “a little go at each other” during training.
Colwill explained, “That’s how you’ve got to be sometimes. You’ve got to be tough on each other to strive for greatness.” Madueke echoed that sentiment, saying, “As soon as we got off the pitch, we were both laughing about it. It’s like, nothing’s personal.”
Colwill and Madueke’s Form This Season
Whatever tension there may have been during training, it’s clearly working in their favor. Both players have been in excellent form for Chelsea this season, with Colwill being particularly impressive in defense. Pundit Darren Bent even described Colwill as a “very good centre-half.”
The Future of Colwill and Madueke at Chelsea
At just 21 and 22 years old, respectively, Colwill and Madueke are seen as vital to Chelsea’s future. Colwill seems to have secured a long-term role in central defense, but Madueke’s position as the first-choice right winger is less certain.
Chelsea have plenty of attacking talent waiting in the wings. Pedro Neto is already part of the squad, and Brazilian star Estevao Willian is set to join next summer. Estevao is confident about his future at Stamford Bridge, meaning Madueke will face some stiff competition for his spot.
For manager Enzo Maresca, this depth in attack is a good problem to have. With so much talent at his disposal, he’ll never have to worry about a lack of attacking options.
